IowaView is one of state-based consortium,
led by GeoTREE Center and the University of Northern Iowa, in building
a nationwide network of state and local users to fulfill the goals of
AmericaView.

The main goal is to establish an Iowa View at the University
of Northern Iowa, which will build partnerships and infrastructure in
Iowa to facilitate the availability, timely distribution, and
utilization of remote sensing data to the community in Iowa. In
addition, it also demonstrates and documents the benefits of remote
sensing education, research, and outreach activities to local
decision-makers. The detailed objectives are explained below.

Develop
the IowaView Consortium to advance the remote sensing data and
technology in Iowa.

Develop
remote sensing education and training programs that are tailored to the
needs of local and state government agencies and private sectors.

Promote
and support collaborative remote sensing application research effort
and develop techniques and tools for local and state government
agencies.

Transfer
remote sensing data and technology to educational institutions at all
levels, local and state agencies, and the private sector in Iowa.

Establish
a synergistic relationship with other AmericaView states.
Benefit
to State User Community
IowaView
will provide several benefits to the state user communities that are
described below.
1.
Provide a geospatial educational opportunities to the user through
workshops and training programs.
2.
Conduct geospatial research with state users for the development of new
tools and techniques.
3.
Establish an outreach program which will provide the state users with
real time satellite data and other geospatial data.
